During the third quarter, Sega Semmy same store sales were negative. 79 million cards were shipped while stores with poor profitability were shut down or sold.
Consumer Business
Revenues in the consumer business registered a 7.5% growth from 82.2 billion yen in the comparative quarter a year ago to 88.4 billion yen. Sales in entertainment software increased 7.4% year-on-year to 55.1 billion yen.
In the segment, domestic sales were below prior year’s results, while overseas sales improved from last year on strong sales of “Mario and Sonic Olympic Games”.
Outlook
Sega Sammy forecasted that net sales will climb down from the November forecast of 540 billion yen to 475 billion yen as sales of major titles were delayed to the end of the fiscal term or postponed to the next fiscal term.
Net income forecasts were slashed from the November estimate of 20 billion yen to 1 billion yen.
Operating income was also revised downwards from 20 billion yen a year ago to 6 billion yen.
The full-year dividend projection was reviewed to 15 yen per share from 30 yen per share a year ago. |
