Japan Industrial Production Rises 2.9% in May

Industrial Production in May increased 2.9% from the previous month, showing an increase for the first time in three months. It showed an increase of 1.2% from the previous year.

 
Changes in Inventory

Inventory in May increased 0.5% from the previous month, showing an increase for the first time in two months. It showed an increase of 1.5% from the previous year. The index in May was 104.7 (seasonally adjusted).

Industries that mainly contributed to the increase are as follows: 1. Transport equipment , 2.Chemicals, 3.Petroleum and coal products, in that order.

Inventory Ratio in May decreased 0.2% from the previous month, showing a decrease for the second consecutive month. It showed an increase of 2.1% from the previous year. The index in May was 101.0 (seasonally adjusted).
